GASOTIL®is used to treat the symptoms of too much Stomach Acid such as Stomach Upset, Acidity, Heartburn, Dyspepsia and Acid Indigestion.
Antacids are a class of medicines that neutralize acid in the stomach. They contain ingredients such as aluminum, calcium, magnesium, or sodium bicarbonate which act as bases (alkalis) to counteract stomach acid and make its pH more neutral.
Antacids are used to relieve the symptoms of Gastro esophageal Reflux Disease (GERD also called acid reflux), heartburn or indigestion (also called dyspepsia). By neutralizing stomach acid, antacids relieve symptoms such as burning in the chest or throat area caused by acid reflux, a bitter taste in the mouth, a persistent dry cough, pain when lying down, and regurgitation.
Antacids reduce acidity by neutralizing (counteracting) acid, reducing the acidity in the stomach, and reducing the amount of acid that is refluxed into the esophagus or emptied into the duodenum. Antacids also work by inhibiting the activity of pepsin, a digestive enzyme produced in the stomach that is active only in an acid environment and, like acid, is believed to be injurious to the lining of the stomach, duodenum, and esophagus.
Sodium bicarbonate reduces stomach acid. It is used as an antacid to treat heartburn, indigestion, and upset stomach. Sodium bicarbonate is a very quick-acting antacid. It should be used for Gastric relief, sour stomach or acid indigestion by neutralizing excess stomach acid. It also be used to treat the symptoms of stomach or duodenal ulcers. Sodium bicarbonate is the active ingredient in baking soda.
Cardamom:
Cardamom contains chemicals that might treat intestinal spasms, kill some bacteria, reduce swelling, and help the immune system.
Cardamom stimulates digestion and helps relieve stomach spasms by soothing the inner lining of the stomach. This thus helps ward off the bad effects of excess acid produced in the stomach.
Cardamom can also help in treating gastrointestinal issues like indigestion, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain and spasms.
Peppermint:
Peppermint is a plant in the mint family. The leaf and oil are used as medicine. Peppermint oil is used for a long-term disorder of the large intestines that causes stomach pain (irritable bowel syndrome or IBS). It is also used for indigestion (dyspepsia), spasms in the bowel, cracked nipples, bed sores (pressure ulcers), and tension headache.
Fennel:
Fennel seeds contain estragole, fenchone and anethole, which contribute to the plant’s antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory properties. Fennel seeds contain oil that will aid in digestion and reduce bloating. It also calms the stomach lining and alleviates the burning sensation during acidity. It has a mild licorice flavor and is low in acid, which can help soothe the upset stomach that can be both a cause and symptom of GERD.
